A friendly gathering that begins with a reading of Classical Chinese poetry and continues with a reading of a number of different translations of a single chapter of Laozi’s Daodejing. A section from the Liezi or the Zhuangzi often follows. The class finishes with a question-and-answer session and general discussion
Tai Chi Fundamentals

We focus on relaxation exercises, an understanding of peng, liu, ji, and an, as well as an introduction to Chan Si Jin, (Chen style Silk Reeling). Occasionally we include qigong sets from various sources that boost energy, combat stress, strengthen the muscular core, and enhance flexibility.
Continuing Tai Chi
11 AM to 12 PM EST
We study Chen Tai Chi’s Large Old Frame form, Lao Da Jia, in the Chen Fa Ke/Chen Quanzhong lineage. We explore deeper levels of relaxation, incorporating Silk Reeling into every movement, and martial application where appropriate. There is something for all levels of practice and achievement each session. Buns of steel and thighs of titanium are a consequence of practice, along with a calmer mind, better sleep, and multiple other health benefits.
